Harvest sunday 7th October 2012

As we thank God for his faithfulness in granting another harvest, we look forward to our Harvest Sunday on the 7th with Andrew & Rachel Cooke
focussing our thoughts on the work of TEAR Fund. May we be prepared to give our donations to that vital work. Do join us for our Harvest lunch
that day. Even if you can’t make the morning service we’d love to see you at the lunch. Please just make sure that, for numbers, you’ve put your name on the list. Let’s be prayerful for the work of TEAR Fund and, our own work in the harvest field around us.
Brighton & Hove City Mission
Over the year we have been enabled to take regular bags of groceries to the Brighton & Hove City Mission, that you have kindly given for distribution among those in need in the area (see letter of thanks opposite). The Mission inform us that they would be glad to receive items of toothpaste, soap, shampoo etc. as well as groceries. They may be placed in the bag at the front of the church. However we will be glad to have some non-perishable items for our harvest display, prior to them being included in the next consignment for B&HM.
Please rember
Please remember in your prayers June Isaacs and Sheila Garman, both of whom are recovering from fractures sustained in falls. Jacqui Stephens has a date for her knee operation. Please pray for her in her considerable discomfort and that the op will be successful.
Please continue to pray for Sheila and Michael Bylett. At the time of writing we believe they are still waiting to hear what future arrangements for Michael’s accommodation will be.
Some will remember Michelle Cantwell’s niece, Rachel, who is recovering in the East Surrey Hospital following a fall. Please pray for Rachel.
Off to School, College & University and Beyond
We continue to remember our young people back at school, college and university after the summer break.
Thank you to Bethan Borrett for her account of the group who spent several weeks in Ghana with the Raising Hope work.
Please especially pray for Nick Cooke as he commences his year with SIM, leaving on Oct 8th, and Rhys Stonely who leaves for his 10 day visit to India with the St John Ambulance organisation on Oct 5th.

This month, Sunday evening 14th will be a little different when Steve & Stuart lead us in a Songs of Praise evening with a brief message. Then we welcome Paul Spear, AGBC(SE) secretary as our preacher on Oct 21st.

Fellowship after evening service – Are you only a one-Sunday-service person? Hebrews 10:25
Let’s not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let’s encourage one another.
