As I’m sure you’re all aware I haven’t been around for the last few weeks because on the 8th October I went up to Wetheringsett in Suffolk to UK headquarters of Serving In Mission (formerly the Sudan Interior Mission, and a load of other mission organisations that merged together).

Here I’ve been preparing for the new year, when I and the other people (Johnny, Helen and Sarah) are going out with the GAP year program. We’ve been learning different skills both practical and spiritual for when we go out. I and Johnny are going out to Accra in Ghana where we will probably be doing youth work and sports mission, and the girls are going out to Malawi, but we don’t yet know anything more specific. A lovely Swiss couple
called Johnny (there’s also one in the finance department) and Rilana, are living on site as well with their children, in order to improve their English prior to going out to south Sudan.

As I write this we’re about to go to theirs for team time (playing games on the evening). As well as them, Louise the housekeeper is looking after us – she cooks us lunch in week (the food’s awesome today – we had toad in the hole and swiss roll) as well as doing the shopping order for us, and at the weekend we cook for ourselves, although for the last two we did some cooking over an outside fire with Johnny and Rilana on Saturday (its really fun, although on the first week I wasn’t there and this week Sarah wasn’t) and on Sunday we’ve had lunch with people from the church we go to.

In conclusion I would be really grateful if you could pray for me and the other GAPers that we’ll all learn what we need to in the time and not have trouble raising the money we need, so bye and I hope to see you all in December.

Would you be interested in being one of my prayer partners when I go out to Ghana in
the new year, this means you’ll get my prayer letters and if anything happens that stops
me sending them SIM will let you know. www.sim.co.uk/Pray/prayer_partners
