A light in every city

Andrew & Rachel attended GBM Day recently at Solihull (24 Oct) . Here are their reflections:
“As ever, this years GBM Annual Mission Day was both exciting and challenging. Exciting to hear about how God is working all over the world; but challenging to realise that Europe is now the worlds most needy continent.
The title of this years Mission Day was “A light in every city” focusing in GBM’s work in Europe; with presentations from James Hammond Church Planting in Bordeax, to Andre Kempczynski Church Planting in Legionowo, Poland; plus places in between such as Jean Ellis ministry amongst the deaf in Austria. But other parts of the world were not forgotten – we were introduced to two  new missionaries to central Asia; and learnt about how the mobile phone revolution across Africa was providing a new means of transmitting Gospel material via the distribution of phone memory cards.
The powerful closing address was given by Rev. Andy Paterson FIEC Director of Mission. Andy reminded us that as Christians mission should be central to every thing we do and that church is only church because it shares God’s missionary heart – and that without it, it’s just another social club. How do with match up to that test? A challenging thought indeed.”
