At our Church AGM in February, Church Activities & Departments presented their Prayer & Praise Points.

Here are a few extracts for us all to include in our prayers. More to come next month.

Youth & Children’s work

  • Bible Class (Matt Steel) A wide range of themes studied, ranging from Angels to Revelation. Praise God for Bea and Matt England helping with the group and for Elliot’s work in the video shoot last summer. Pray for increased knowledge and excitement in the young people as they understand more of God’s plans.
  • Sunday School (Hazel & Katie) Grateful to all who help with the younger group, particularly Gill Beadle and Rachel who have been doing a number of weeks in a row. Pray for wisdom and strength for the teachers to continue to teach the children and to be able to answer their questions.

Evangelism & Mission

  • Door to Door Evangelism (Calix) Praise the Lord for a number of conversations held as doors have been opened over past months, and for those who have accompanied Calix. Please pray for renewed opportunity this year and for others to be able to join in the work in this important mission field.
  • Little Verse 1 & 2 (Hazel & Katie) Praise for good attendances throughout the year and particularly just recently with an influx for the downstairs group where the numbers had begun to tail off a little. One or two mum’s have requested prayer for particular needs. Pray for spiritual conversations to develop.
  • Tea@4 (Stuart) Praise for a well attended T@4 Christingle Service. Several ‘non church families’ attended, and that at least one such family also attended our Church Carol Service. Pray for, and support the Easter themed Tea@4 planned for Sunday 9th April, that families will be minded to turn up.
  • Outreach via New Street Garden (Stuart) Praise for fine weather for the 2016 Summer Picnic and Carols in the Garden; also for good response from the community; Calix gave brief messages, and many conver- sations took place. Pray for wisdom to build upon these events, and for continued freedom to be able to hold these events in the open air without undue restriction. Pray for plans for similar events in 2017.
  • Mission Prayer (Rachel) Praise for opportunities we have to pray for GBM and other missionaries. As a result of the challenge issued at the GBM AGM last October to make contact with our missionaries and thereby encourage them in their work for the Lord, we now ask for regular prayer them as we focus on their prayer requests each week.
