Hezekiah …did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, …he opened the doors of the temple of the Lord and repaired them. 2 Chronicles 29: 1-3

Praise God that Rehoboth has now opened the doors for both Sunday morning and evening services. Taking due care, it’s great that more of us are able to meet physically, even if a few still join by You Tube and/or Zoom.

When it comes to the question of ‘repair’, Perhaps James Montgomery’s old hymn might be appropriate:

To Thy temple we repair,
Lord, we love to worship there,
Where within the veil we meet
Christ before the mercy-seat.

Communion – For members and other baptised friends joining us at the chapel, we will be sharing communion together on 1st August, following the morning service.

Praise & Prayer
On 25th July Jason & Alison brought baby William for dedication and thanksgiving to God, before the congregation at Rehoboth. It was a privilege for us to commit to praying for the family in the days to come.

For specific prayer items please see this months “COVID CONNECT”

Congratulations to Elliot Smith and Megan Chalmers whose wedding takes place on Saturday 14th August at 11.30am. The service will be at Holy Trinity Church, Rushams Road. There will be a limited number of seats for any who would like to attend. If you would like to be there, please mention it to Steve Piggott.

May we pray for God’s rich blessing upon Elliot and Megan as they enter the state of holy matrimony, and may we commit to remembering them before the throne of grace in the coming days.

Congratulations, too to Rachel Warner and Jack Greenacre who recently announced their engagement, and who plan to marry in July 2022. Praying for the Lord’s rich blessings for them as they prepare.

It was a joy to be able to hold a Teddy Bears Picnic recently for Little Verse with a number of attendees (apart from teddies!). The last Little Verse took place in February last year, prior to the Covid lockdown. It is hoped to be able to start sessions again, perhaps in a revised form, in September. Pray for the right volunteers to be available under the Lord’s provision.

28th July saw a gathering of the Tuesday Fellowship group on a Wednesday (confusing?!), when they had a summer cream tea at The Orchard restaurant. 14 gathered, and it was good to have Kevin & Judy Borrett visiting and enjoying oodles of jam and cream with us, washed down with tea and coffee in abundance.

Our first resumed service at
Ashby Court since January 2020 took place on Friday 30th July, with 7 residents present. We were welcomed warmly and it was good to be able to share the word with them again, and to sing a few hymns, while Sandra accompanied on the piano rescued form the ruins of Page Court and tuned by resident Raol D’Olivera. We look forward to holding the next service on Friday 3rd September.
