in Fellowship News

All Dates are important – but please may we NOTA BENE (Note Well) the following:

  • Saturday 14th Sept. Morning of Prayer for all the Fellowship. It will be from 9am – 1pm at Rehoboth
There are important decisions needing to be considered for the church, for our pastor & family, for the leadership & for our witness in the community.
Do we not all see the vital importance of God’s people joining together for seasons of prayer—and especially as we move into the Autumn? If you possibly can, please join us for an hour or more during this morning period.
  • Wednesday 18th Sept. An Evening with Nathan Javed (GBM Bradford) 7.45pm on Zoom at Rehoboth. Nathan & Urpha Javed are those we support prayerfully & financially in their gospel work amongst the Asian community.
Please join us if you possibly can. It will be good both for us to have an update for our pray-ers, and for Nathan & Urpha the encouragement of being assured of our support.

Ladies at large!

Some of our ladies at Rehoboth will be away over the weekend of 20th – 22nd September attending the Grace Baptist Womens’ Association Conference at High Leigh Conference Centre. The theme this year is From Here to Eternity with speaker, Karen Soole.
Main sessions will be from Ecclesiastes and 1 Peter, focussing on ‘understanding our times’ and finishing with ‘our eternal hope’.
May we pray the Lord’s blessing on this special weekend

Work of the Bible Society

Christians have lived in Egypt  through all the ups and downs of the past two thousand years, but are a minority today, making up about 15% of the population. The Bible Society ministers to these mainly Coptic Christians as well as other people.
A Coptic prayer of thanksgiving:
‘O Lord, Master and Almighty God, the Father of our Lord, God, and Saviour Jesus Christ, we thank you on every occasion, in every condition and for all things, for you have protect-ed, assisted, preserved, accepted us, had compassion upon us, supported us and brought us to this hour. Amen

Praying & caring for the Community – Dorset, Hampshire, Kent & Surrey Courts

Preaching out this month:

1st D Ansell – Copthorne am; S Beadle – Appleyards am; S Piggott – Redhill am

15th DA – Hailsham am & pm; SP – Binfield am

22nd DA – Wivelsfield am, Slinfold pm; SB – Copthorne am 29th DA – Horsham URC am; SB – Slinfold pm

Just a reminder that our Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday will fall on the 29th September.

This will hopefully include a partly bring-your-own Harvest lunch, between two services of praise & thanksgiving for God’s goodness, led by our pastor, Calix.

Once again we are all invited to bring items of food, packaged/canned etc., as we give thanks. These will form our Harvest display to remind us of God’s good provision.

We like to then take these items, along with any others gathered + any health products given, to the Brighton & Hove City Mission who work amongst folk from many different backgrounds & circumstances, not just as a food bank, but to bring the spiritual help of the gospel, as opportunity arises.

You will see from the poster that a monetary gift would be welcome, as an alternative or in addition, and can be donated to their Harvest appeal via a scan.

Thank you for helping us at Rehoboth to help them.
