Thomas Hood wrote this very negative poem about the 11th month in the year:

No sun – no moon! No morn – no noon – No dawn – no dusk – no proper time of day. No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease, No comfortable feel in any member – No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! – November!

But, Praise God! There’s no doubt that we have Life, Light and Joy in Jesus; and we have the word of God being brought to us through the preaching and ministry of His servant Calix. Pray much for him as he seeks to faithfully serve the Lord in our midst.

For prayer – Pat, who, as well as having to have regular leg dressings, is experiencing a return of blistering on her body. Please pray the consultant will be able to find the right treatment to clear it up, and that Pat will be able to rest and feel the Lord’s healing hand upon her.

Jacqui – We’re thankful that, at last Jacqui is improving in health, but let’s be prayerful for her that there will be a steady return to full strength.

Christine, who has been enduring a rough time over the past two months. She has been beset with infections, hopefully now subsiding, had a tooth extraction in the last week of October, and is now hoping to start chemo for her leukaemia in the first week of November. Much sustained prayer needed, please.

Don, still in hospital at the end of October. Please pray for the Lord’s peace for him and strengthening
