Andrew and Rachel share some thoughts on the Grace Baptist Mission Day at the Friends’ Meeting House in London on October 29th: This years Annual Mission Day had the theme of ‘Here am I – Send Me”; So does it mean ‘send’ or be ‘sent’? We were challenged to think about our role in this work, either in sending or being sent into mission. One of the great pleasures (and challenges) of attending the Annual Mission Day is the presentations given by various missionaries. Rachel, for example attended a session given by our old friend Nicola Edkins who shared about her work with Muslim women in the North West, whilst I attended a session by Ian and Helene Flanders titled “Gospel in African Soil” in which they shared how cultural influences can impact on both how one can share the Gospel, but also of peoples understanding of it. Please remember to pray for GBM missionaries but also the Abingdon based staff and the Mission trustees, and to help with this, starting in the new year we hope to have a weekly focus on different aspects of GBM’s work. And to conclude the day the closing address was given by Luke Jenner on Isaiah’s Commission in Isaiah Chapter 6 :8 “ Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Here I am send me!
