November 11th – 11th month, 11th day, 11 o’clock. What a privilege it is for us to be here exactly 100 years to the day that the Armistice was signed in a railway carriage in the forest of Compiègne, France. It was not a satisfactory arrangement and the armistice dragged on for the next year or so, but it is a notable moment for us to pause and remember all those who gave their lives during that terri-ble 1914-18 war, and all later wars. Kevin Borrett will be leading our morning worship service on Sunday 11th and will be including the 2 minute silence for us to observe. Please join us.
The new Monthly Fellowship Prayer Diary has just been issued (there should be one in this magazine). Please use it daily to share in prayer for one another. If you see a mistake in it, please let Steve know for future adjustment.
Calix is well into his theological course. He shares: Please pray for my studies at London Seminary; in particular Hebrew, as I find the vocabulary a bit harder to memorise than I expected, and I also have an essay to hand in in November.
Many thanks to all who contributed to our Harvest display last month. The bounty was delivered to and much appreciated by the Brighton & Hove City Mission for the witness at their food bank.
