December 2010/ Are you prepared?

Solar scientists are predicting a massive solar flare, probably in 2012 (although it could occur any time).

In an interview on Radio 4′2 “Today” programme a scientist said this eruption could destroy satellites, cause computers to fail, shut down the internet and destroy the national grid causing all business to come to a halt!. A flare on the scale predicted occurred in 1854 and we are due another one.

A meeting of the Electricity Security Council was held in London to make preparations to prevent damage and maintain services.

Various “prophets” have been predicting the end of the world in 2012. The president of Family Radio Ministries, which holds doctrines similar to us at Rehoboth, is predicting the “Day of Judgment” to occur on May 21st 2011, which he calculates as exactly 7,000 years since the flood of Noah!

It is dangerous to fix dates for the Lord’s return and contrary to Scripture. Jesus himself says in Mathew 24 vs 36 “No-one knows about that day our hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the father.” And in verse 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come”. Many have been disappointed by date fixing in the past.

As the Advent and Christmas season is upon us, are we prepared to welcome the Savior born at Bethlehem who died on the cross to pay the price for our sins and who rose from the dead.

The solar flare MAY or MAY NOT happen.God came to earth in Jesus. That DID happen (See John 1 vs 14). Jesus is coming again. That WILL happen one day. Are we prepared for his return?
